Unfair conditions hinder the integration of third-country nationals into the Bulgarian labor market

The language barrier, unfair working conditions and discrimination are the main obstacles to the integration of third-country nationals into the Bulgarian labor market. This shows a study conducted by the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research at CITUB.

It was implemented within the international project #UnionMigrantNet and the cities together for integration. The project is co-financed by the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs under the AMIF-2018-AG-INTE program. It is coordinated by the European Confederation of Trade Unions, and the Bulgarian partners are the CITUB and the Sofia Municipality through its structure “Development Association for Sofia”.

The aim of the study is to identify the most common problems for access to the labor market of third-country nationals and the attitudes of Bulgarian employers. Target groups are asylum seekers granted refugee or humanitarian status, economic migrants, third-country nationals, employers, stakeholders.
